DUE DATES

The following is a list of requirements and due dates for the research paper.

All of your work must completed according to the specific instructions and must be turned in on time.

Outline- use your notes to develop an outline to guide the writing of your paper. We will have a brief lesson on this in class on Wednesday, May 5th. The outline must be turned in with your final draft.

Thesis- Turn your guiding question into a thesis statment. This will determine the purpose of your paper. All of the information you wirte must support your thesis. We will have a lesson on writing the thesis and the introductory paragraph on Wednesday, May 5th.

First draft- due May 10th. You should have your paper completely written and in the appropriate format. It should be typed using Times New Roman, 12 point font and double spaced. Click here for additional specific instructions on FORMATING.

Citing your sources in your text- It is essential that you give credit to all of your sources that you use to write your paper. Click here to get instructions for proper in-text citations.

Peer Conference- May 10th- you will meet with a peer to conference on your paper and make suggestions for revising. Revision will focus on improving ideas, word choice, fluency of ideas, organization and support of the thesis. Focus is NOT on grammar, mechanics, spelling or usage.

Final Draft- due May 21st- students should turn in their final, revised draft that is properly formated and includes a works cited page. Include with this draft the topic approval with my signature, your notes, the outline, and your first draft. Click here to get instructions for creating a works cited page.
