OVERVIEW OF THE ASSIGNMENT

Overview:

The purpose of this research project is to extend your knowledge of the background information you learned from reading To Kill a Mockingbird. In addition, you will learn how to conduct effective research, take notes from the research, document your sources and write a clear, focused research paper.

You will select one of the topics below to research.  To do the research you will consult books that have been placed on the reserve cart from the RC.  In addition, you should explore relevant links on the Internet.

After you have completed researching your topic, you will write a 2-3 page research paper.  Your paper should include a works cited page citing the sources that you used to write your paper.  In addition to citing books and magazine articles, you must also document the Internet sites you used. Remember even if you do not use a direct quote you must give credit to the sources for all the information used in your paper.

We will be working on this research project together.  I will assign due dates for the various parts.  It is essential that you complete the activities on time.
